Bangladesh: Project for Strengthening Health Systems through Organizing Communities

In order to improve maternal mortality ratio (70 in 100,000 live birth) and under 5 mortality rate (25 per 1,000 live births) by 2030, this project encourages, through organizing communities, preventive efforts against Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as vascular diseases and cancer and strengthening medical services providing system for test, diagnosis and treatment in the pilot sites in Dhaka City, Nardingdi District and Cox’s Bazar District.

Pakistan: Project for Strengthening Maternal and Newborn Health Care in Punjab

The counterpart agency in the host country for this project is the Punjab Health Department. The project's objective is to "improve the quality of care" for pregnant women, newborns, primarily focusing on: 1) enhancing knowledge and skills in maternal and newborn care within the community, 2) ensuring appropriate delivery of healthcare services for pregnant women and newborns at the facility level, and 3) strengthening supervisory functions for maternal and newborn care at the state and district levels. Activities are being carried out to achieve these specific outcomes.

Implementation period: 4 years from December 2021 to November 2025

Viet Nam: Support on Medical Science Researches

Since 2007, the Vietnamese staffs of TAC Hanoi office have been supporting the National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) in their Japan/Vietnam medical science researches at Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, and supporting NCGM’s study units — Medical Collaboration Center (MCC) and the Aids Clinical Center (ACC) — that aim to promote Japan/Vietnam collaboration medical science researches.

Viet Nam: Supporting Tuberculosis Research

The Research Institute of Tuberculosis, Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association has been conducting tuberculosis research in Hanoi Lung Hospital since 2013 by the project consignment from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, etc. In order to promote Japan-Vietnam research, TAC, with a Vietnamese staff, has been implementing assisting works such as various coordination, documentation, supporting import/export of clinical samples and equipment.
